Waterford Institute of Technology Entry Requirements

Candidates who have completed higher-level coursework at other schools and wish to transfer to a degree programme at WIT are encouraged to apply at this institute. Check out the various Waterford Institute of Technology entry requirements below:

  • You should be at least 17 years of age in January of the year of entry.
  • You must have a Secondary/High School Diploma, with satisfactory grades in English and Mathematics and at least 4 other subjects, on average + 60%.

Taught Postgraduate

  • You need to hold an honours degree in a related field in order to enrol in a taught master's programme.

Research Postgraduate

To undertake a postgraduate programme by research, you should have the following:

  • A pass degree, plus a graduate diploma or master's degree in a related subject.

English Language Requirements

Undergraduates

  • Engineering, science, and health sciences 5.5 IELTS (minimum of 5 IELTS in each component)
  • Education, business, and the humanities 6 IELTS (minimum of 5 IELTS in each component)

Postgraduates

  • Engineering, science, and health sciences 6 IELTS (min of 6 IELTS in each component)
