National University of Ireland Galway Placement

You will participate in the Work Placement Bootcamp the year before your placement. In order to better prepare students for the placement process, the Employability Bootcamp for Work-Based Learning is a collection of employability courses supported by Universal Design for Learning. There are three sections to it.

  • Advisory session: The Bootcamp workshop's advisory portion features interactive exchanges with academics, career advisers, placement officers, and students who have been connected with employers and final-year students. The needs of the students are identified, and their comprehension is evaluated, using an online interactive audience tool.
  • CV workshop: The CV workshop is an interactive session held in a computer lab where a group of students have already finished a draught of their CV. They submit it to the computer, where each section of the CV is interactively discussed piece by piece.
  • Individual CV review: After finishing the CV workshop, each student finishes writing their final CV. After that, they bring it to a one-on-one CV review appointment where each one is examined to make sure it is as good as it can be. On Careers Connect, you can schedule appointments.
