• Choose 1 other Science subject from Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering Science or Experimental Physic

2nd year

• Psychology as a Single Major subject
• Optional 10 credit Critical Skills or Electives

3rd year

• 1 semester on work placement (subject to availability) or studying abroad and 1 semester on a research internship

4th year

• Psychology studied as a Single Major subject

Mature students are 23 years or older by 1st January in the year of entry to the University. For part-time degrees the mature age is 21. Admission is based on your application. Written assessment. Candidates are shortlisted for interview on the basis of written assessment.

 
O4/H7 Leaving Certificate Mathematics OR EQUIVALENT required.
 

 
Mature students must complete the CAO section for mature applicants fully, indicating clearly past or current studies, and outlining educational goals and objectives. Applicants are assessed on the basis of the information provided on their CAO application form. All questions should be answered in full.

The fees for BSc Psychology may vary from €6,500 to €15,000 annually for tuition fees. The fee's prices may get higher for International Students.

The Maynooth University BSc Psychology is accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland. 

A variety of career paths are available, both within and outside psychology: if your ambition is a career as a professional psychologist, an undergraduate degree is the first stage in professional training that will require an additional two to six years of study and supervised experience.

Examples of psychologists at work include: clinical psychologists - working in healthcare settings, educational psychologists - working in schools and organisational psychologists - working in business and work settings.
