Maynooth University, which is a part of the NUI and was formally founded as an autonomous university in 1997, can trace its roots back to the establishment of the Royal College of St. Patrick in 1795 and draws inspiration from a history that spans more than 200 years of learning and study. The Maynooth University campus is divided into an ancient complex of beautiful nineteenth-century buildings and a modern complex of teaching, research, lodging, and support facilities. The campus is situated on its large grounds in rural surroundings.

  • Maynooth University Bookshop: The Bookshop is located on the North Campus in John Hume Building. Students will find academic books, stationery, general books, and other additional supplies that cater to students as well as the general public. 
  • Photocopy & Postal Service: The John Hume Building accommodates the central photocopying and postal services on the ground floor of the North Campus and in Riverstown Annexe on the South Campus. Services include spiral binding, photocopying, head binding, registered post, franking of a regular post, EMS courier post, and swift post.
  • Student Lockers: Students will find the lockers in the Callan building and the Arts building. Lockers are usually rented on a first come first serve basis with a rental cost of €20 per academic year.

Maynooth University Entry Requirements

Maynooth University entry requirements differ when it comes to undergraduate and English requirements. Below we have discussed each in detail. 

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

  • Higher Secondary School Certificate Grade 12 provided by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or Indian Certificate of Secondary Education with a minimum overall score of 75% and an English score of 70%. (ICSE)
  • Any All India Secondary School Certificate equivalent to Grade 12
  • A 75% English score is required for all other boards
  • Meet the prerequisites for the required subjects, and the applicant's starting age for the degree programme must be at least 18 years old

English Requirements 

Undergraduate: UG programmes in science and engineering require a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.0. For all other undergraduate programmes, a total score of 6.5 IELTS or its equivalent is required. The uni will require a Duolingo score of 100 for programmes that now require an IELTS score of 6.0. Where an IELTS score of 6.5 is required, the university will call for a Duolingo score of 110. Where an IELTS score of 7.0 is required, we will demand a Duolingo score of 120.

Postgraduate: PG programmes require an overall IELTS score of 6.5 or higher. Please be aware that Business degrees require an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with 6.0 in each of the components—or an equivalent—for reading and writing. Please be aware that the MSc in Immunology & Global Health requires an overall IELTS score of 7.0 with a 7.0 writing score and 6.5 overall.

 

Maynooth University Fees

Once a student enrols in a course, they are instantly responsible for paying the associated Maynooth University fees. Make sure that fee blocks are applied to all student accounts with a debit amount due at the end of the academic year. Until the debt is paid in full, further registration and/or graduation will not be permitted.
