PROGRAM STRUCTURE
 

The program requires completion of at least 30 credits. In some program areas, minimum requirements may be higher than 30 credits:
 

• At least 24 credits must be at the 500-level.
• A minimum of 18 of the 24 credits must be in the program area at the 500-level, including a project, if required, up to a maximum 6 credits.
• A maximum of 6 credits may be taken at the 300-/400-level.
• A maximum of 6 credits of 500-level directed studies courses may be counted toward the program requirements.

MINIMUM ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
 

The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies establishes the minimum admission requirements common to all applicants, usually a minimum overall average in the B+ range (76% at UBC). The graduate program that you are applying to may have additional requirements. Please review the specific requirements for applicants with credentials from institutions in:
 

• Canada or the United States
• International countries other than the United States
   

Each program may set higher academic minimum requirements.

Minimum requirements for the two most common English language proficiency tests to apply to this program are listed below:
 

TOEFL: Overall score requirement: 100
 

IELTS: Overall score requirement: 6.5

The fees for Master of Engineering in Chemical and Biological Engineering (MEng) may vary from $20,000 to $30,000 anually for tuition fees. The fee's prices may get higher for international students.
