Management courses first to fourth year

In your first year at UBC’s Okanagan campus, some sample compulsory courses include: Management 100 (Introduction to Business), Management 110 (Introduction to Management Thought and Social Responsibility), and Economics 101 (Principles of Microeconomics).

The second year of the program includes 21 credits of compulsory management courses, introducing you to financial accounting, managerial accounting, marketing, organizational behaviour, management communications, information technology management, and business conditions analysis.

You will use your third and fourth years of study to deepen your understanding of management. In addition to 12 credits of compulsory coursework in your third year, you will have the opportunity to choose upper-level management courses, enabling either focused preparation for a specific career path or generalized studies to expand your breadth of knowledge, or prepare you for advanced studies.

The program intensifies with the Management 490 Capstone Course, a hands-on learning experience for you to work with a team of students to address problems facing partner organizations and drive real-life solutions.

Academic Eligibility:

• Graduation from high school
• Minimum of 70% in Grade 11 or Grade 12 English (or their equivalents)
• At least six academic/non-academic Grade 12 courses (recommended, but not required)

General admission requirements for Indian students are:

• Graduation from a university-preparatory program at a senior secondary school: Higher Secondary School Certificate awarded on completion of Standard XII. Certificates must be official. Photocopies are acceptable if certified by the school principal, head, or counselor. Notarized copies are not acceptable.
