International students need to have a minimum score of 60% in their secondary school and bachelor's degree results. They also need to be 17 years of age to apply to their diploma or certificate programmes. The college has a mandatory non-refundable application fee payment of CA $350. Sprott Shaw College offers a number of programmes that contain work experience. These programmes involve one of the three following types of work experience which are: 

 

  1. Practicum:

A supervised and necessary component of the curriculum must be completed in order to graduate, with a focus on applying theory, techniques, skills, expertise, orientation, and ethics to a specific field of study.

 

  1. Co-op Education:

A programme that alternates study time with employment time in a formalised sequence, starting with and concluding with an academic term. It must include a required and fairly compensated work period.

 

  1. Clinical Placement:

A necessary (for completion of an educational course) and unpaid component of the programme that takes place in a real-world setting (such as a hospital, clinic, lab, etc.) and involves students performing real clinical procedures on actual patients or clients under the instructor's close supervision
