OCAD University Entry Requirements

Future students can apply through the Online Portal. Undergraduate students do not need to pay an application fee whereas graduate students have to pay a fee of CAD 110. For international students, getting admission at the university requires the following OCAD University entry requirements -

  • Proof of GSCE/IGSCE certificate with 5 O-Level subjects
  • A minimum grade of B or 70% numeric equivalent
  • An International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum final score of 24
  • A completed application form

    • IELTS: A minimum score of 6.5 with each band score of atleast 6.0 
    • TOEFL/TOEFL iBT: Minimum overall score of 84, with atleast a score of 20 in Reading, 19 in Listening, 22 in Speaking and 20 in Writing
    • PTE: A minimum overall score of 58 with atleast a score of 56 in each section of Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing
    • Duolingo: Minimum overall score of 110 with atleast a score of 105 in Production
    • CAEL: A minimum score of 70 overall with no band score below 60
    • COPE: Minimum overall score of 86 with atleast 32 in Writing, 22 in Reading and 22 in Listening.

OCAD University Fees

OCAD U fees vary depending on the curriculum chosen by the student. The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate studies. In addition to the cost of tuition, the university charges for other amenities and services provided on campus. OCAD University fees are dependent on the type of program a student chooses which can range from CAD $7,200 for one academic year; whereas full-time international students will have to pay around CAD 27,500 per academic year. The total fees owed are determined by the number of credits registered for each term by the student. Typically, students will take 4-5 classes for each term. Classes are typically worth 0.5 or 1.0 credits, therefore the average student takes around 2.5 credits each term.

 

OCAD University Placements

The Campus Jobs Program for International Students (CEPIS) provides on-campus part-time employment. Students who are enrolled full-time in a degree program and have study permission are eligible for OCAD University placements.
