Two 3-credit courses at the 500, 600, or 700 level; normally one of these will be a course in statistics.

• Applicants should be graduates of a university of recognized reputation and hold a bachelor's degree of recognized reputation.

• The candidate is required to pass, with a grade of B- or better, all those courses that have been designated by the department as forming a part of the program, including additional requirements.

• The applicant must present evidence of academic achievement: a minimum standing equivalent to a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 out of a possible 4.0 or a CGPA of 3.2 out of 4.0 for the last two full-time academic years. 

• All candidates for a research degree must present a thesis based on their own research. The total number of credits allotted to the thesis in any master's program must not be less than 24.

• Proof of English proficiency may be required for international applicants, whose first language is not English.

• The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) results are required for some academic units. A GRE Subject Test is encouraged.
