About

A public undergraduate institution called MacEwan University is situated in the heart of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was formerly a two-year college but changed to a university in 2009. Ten bachelor's degrees, one applied degree, and 43 diploma and certificate programs are all available at the university. Additionally, it is Alberta's biggest post-secondary university for transfer students. The university's four colleges and two schools provide courses in engineering, physical education, nursing, business, liberal arts and sciences, health and community studies, and nursing.

 

MacEwan University’s acceptance rate stands at 59%. Its student body is more than 60% female, with more than 14,000+ full-time students enrolled in 65+ programs out of which 1,000+ students are international students from all over the world. The university also provides programming for university preparation and English as a Second Language course, in addition to non-credit professional and personal development courses on a part-time basis.

 

The Faculty of Arts and Science, Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications, Faculty of Health and Community Studies, Faculty of Nursing, School of Business, and School of Continuing Education make up the undergraduate division of the university. 43 diploma and certificate programs, one applied degree, and ten bachelor degrees are all available through the institution. Some courses are available in-person, full-time, part-time, online, and distance learning.

Facilities

The sports team known as The Griffins represent the university. Basketball, hockey, volleyball, soccer, cross country, curling, and golf are sports that are played by both men and women. The Griffins compete against 16 other post-secondary institutions in Alberta in the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference (ACAC) and in the Canada West conference of U Sports. All student-athletes are expected to conform to sport-specific athletic requirements as well as academic requirements. 

 

In an effort to move up to the national U Sports level of play, MacEwan's athletic department submitted an application to the Canada West Universities Athletic Association in 2011. In 2013, the university was accepted as a member-on-probation. The University received full membership in 2016 and became the 56th full member of U Sports, formerly known as CIS. MacEwan University Entry Requirements

Students can upload all of their academic records and verified translations by logging into the MyMacEwan Portal. For fall admissions, the documents must be submitted by August 1; for winter intakes, they must be submitted by December 1. Let's take a look at some of MacEwan University’s entry requirements -

Students are prepared for on-campus hiring by MacEwan University’s Placement and Experience program.
