About

Cepeg Vanier College is an English-speaking public institution known located in Saint-Laurent, Montreal, Quebec. In the public college system of Quebec, it was established in 1970 as Dawson College's successor as the second English-language public college. Vanier is located near the public French-language college CEGEP Saint-Laurent. Cepeg Vanier College’s acceptance rate stands at 75% with more than 6,700 full-time Diploma students enrolled, and a further 2,000 students are enrolled through the department of continuing education (credit and non-credit courses and programs). There are 48 public Cegeps in the province, including Vanier College. Georges Vanier, Canada's second Governor General who was a native, is honored by the name Vanier College. Ten separate buildings make up the current campus of Vanier College. Each of its buildings is designated by an alphabetic letter and was constructed at a distinct time in the college's history.

More than 25 different study options are available at Vanier College, including two-year pre-university and three-year technical programs. Vanier College is the second-largest English-language college in Quebec due to the large enrolment of students every year. A full-time pre-university program and technical career programs leading to a Diploma of College Studies (DCS) are the two types of programs the college provides. The two-year pre-university programs cover the subjects that generally correlate to the extra year of high school offered elsewhere in Canada in order to prepare for a selected field in university.
