Program Overview

If you have genuine concern for the environment and a commitment to sustainability, a degree in Environmental Science is the first step toward launching your career.In this degree you will address today’s scientific issues and explore how humans interact with the environment, how we can manage it sustainably, and how we can better influence positive attitudes to bring about a better future for all.

With a focus on hands-on field work in the natural environment, you will develop a solid foundation across environmental science including biology, ecology, earth and soil science, conservation, environmental chemistry, geographical information systems (GIS) and human dimensions research. Field work ranges from exploring the campus and sites around Adelaide, to Kangaroo Island, the Coorong, the Flinders Ranges or even Fiji.

Modules:
 

  • Biodiversity for the Environment
  • Earth and Climate Systems
  • Environment, Society and Climate
  • Introduction to Surveying and Spatial Sciences
  • Environmental Analytical Methods
  • Soils in the Australian Landscape
  • Meet any prerequisite requirements with a minimum grade of C- or equivalent

  • Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), and achieved a competitive Selection Rank (ATAR), or

  • Complete secondary qualifications equivalent to SACE, or

  • Complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum score of 24 points

  • Applicants who have not achieved the Selection Rank required for automatic selection may be selected for any remaining places based on the grades of their year 12 subjects.
     

In addition to meeting academic entry requirements, international students who speak English as a second or additional language must also meet the University's English language entry requirements. The minimum language requirements for this program are:

  • IELTS writing [6.0]

Indicative Tution Fees -  AUD$ 35,300 per annum (per 1.0 EFTSL)
