About

The University of South Australia (UniSA) is a public research institution located in the Australian territory of South Australia. It is the largest university in South Australia and it is a founding member of the Australian Technology Network of Universities. The University of South Australia’s acceptance rate is 65% with around 37,000 students enrolled at the university.

 

The South Australian Institute of Technology (SAIT, founded in 1889 as the South Australian School of Mines and Industries) and the South Australian College of Advanced Education were combined to become the university in 1991, giving it its current name (SACAE, established 1856). The Hon. Mike Rann MP, Minister of Employment and Further Education, introduced the bill to create and rename the new University of South Australia.

 

According to data from 2020 for the university, there are more than 6,800 international students enrolled there. For overseas students, there are more than 200 degrees to select from. Undergraduate, graduate, and research levels of study are all offered for the courses. Adelaide is also referred to as Australia's education city. City West, City East, Magill, and Mawson Lakes are the four places where UniSA has campuses. All campuses organise more than 50 events annually. Each one of the campus's more than 100 academic, social, and cultural clubs that are open to students.
