Program Overview

As a student studying the Creative Writing and Literature major you will explore historical and contemporary fiction, non-fiction, poetry, autobiographies, essays, films and plays.You will also graduate with advanced writing, presentation, digital, communication, research and problem-solving skills that can be transferable across a range of roles and are highly regarded by prospective employers.If you finish your degree with a credit or higher Grade Point Average (GPA), you could also be eligible for the one-year Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree. You could also continue your studies with a Master of Teaching and teach English in Australia and overseas.   • Creative Writing and Literature: An Introduction
  • Intercultural Communication
  • Creative Writing Workshop
  • Short Form Creative Writing
  • Professional Directions Program 1
  • Meet any prerequisite requirements with a minimum grade of C- or equivalent

  • Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), and achieved a competitive Selection Rank (ATAR), or

  • Complete secondary qualifications equivalent to SACE, or

  • Complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum score of 24 points

  • Applicants who have not achieved the Selection Rank required for automatic selection may be selected for any remaining places based on the grades of their year 12 subjects.
     

In addition to meeting academic entry requirements, international students who speak English as a second or additional language must also meet the University's English language entry requirements. The minimum language requirements for this program are:

  • IELTS reading [6.0]

  • IELTS writing [6.0]

Indicative Tution Fees -  AUD$ 29,400 per annum (per 1.0 EFTSL)
