Program Overview

When you study the Bachelor of Computer Science with Honours you will undertake an intensive program which combines coursework and a thesis. Our course provides you with the opportunity to develop an original research project on a topic that interests you, and to conduct empirical or theoretical research under the guidance of a supervisor who is a specialist in your chosen field.

Core Units

48 credit points

Complete the following unit:
- Honours in Computer Science (COSC400) – 48 credit points
Entry Requirement
A candidate shall:
- hold a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of New England or an equivalent AQF Level 7 Bachelor qualification in a relevant discipline*; and
- have achieved a GPA of 5 in at least 18 credit points at 300-level in Computer Science.
- Normally, candidature for the degree shall commence at the beginning of either Trimester 1 or Trimester 2 of the year following that in which the candidate qualifies in terms of Rule (b).
English Language Requirements

All applicants must meet a minimum of one of the following criteria:
- English is the applicant's first language; or
- Satisfactory completion, within five years of the date of application for admission to UNE, of at least one year of full-time or equivalent full-time study at senior secondary, post-secondary or tertiary level in a country in which English is the primary official language or co-official language and in which English was the sole medium of instruction and assessment for the particular period of study claimed; or
- A pass grade or better in an English language subject at Australian Year 12 level or overseas equivalent; or
- An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic overall score of at least 6.0 with no sub-band less than 5.5*; or
- Equivalent Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of at least 213 in the computer-based test or at least 79 in the internet-based test with no less than 22 in the written component*; or
- A Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic minimum overall score of 57 with no skill less than 50*
