With 10 majors to choose from, our undergraduate business course gives you the flexibility to pursue a diverse range of career paths.

Australian Defence Force personnel with four years or more experience, who have completed the Australian Defence Force Army All-Corps Captain, Sergeant, Warrant Officer or Chief Petty Officer course and an ADF-approved diploma, may be eligible to enter this program based on their military qualifications and Defence Force work experience (see Course rules and plans).

Core Units

48 credit points

Complete the following units

  • Introduction to Financial Accounting (AFM101) – 6 credit points

  • Introductory Microeconomics (ECON101) – 6 credit points

  • Communication for Business (MM105) – 6 credit points

  • Fundamentals of Marketing (MM110) – 6 credit points

  • Management Practices in Responsible Organisations (MM203) – 6 credit points

  • Business Ethics (MM322) – 6 credit points

  • Strategic Planning and Sustainability (MM403) – 6 credit points

  • Business Statistics (QM161) – 6 credit points

A candidate shall:

For Domestic and International Students studying at Armidale Campus

  • be qualified for admission; or

  • hold an approved overseas qualification under the Articulation Programs; or

  • hold an approved qualification* from an Australian TAFE or Registered Training Organisation; or

  • hold an AQF Level 5 Diploma of Military Leadership DEF51512 or Diploma of Leadership DEF51115 or other recognised Australian Defence Force approved relevant Diploma, plus completion of the Australian Defence Force Army All-Corps Captain or Sergeant or Warrant Officer or Chief Petty Officer course, plus at least four years Australian Defence Force work experience; or

  • For International Students studying at UNE Sydney Campus

  • be an international student and be qualified for admission  and be studying on a full-time fee-paying basis at the UNE Sydney campus.


English Language Requirements

All applicants must meet a minimum of one of the following criteria:

  • English is the applicant's first language; or

  • Satisfactory completion, within five years of the date of application for admission to UNE, of at least one year of full-time or equivalent full-time study at senior secondary, post-secondary or tertiary level in a country in which English is the primary official language or co-official language and in which English was the sole medium of instruction and assessment for the particular period of study claimed; or

  • A pass grade or better in an English language subject at Australian Year 12 level or overseas equivalent; or

  • An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic overall score of at least 6.0 with no sub-band less than 5.5*; or

  • Equivalent Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of at least 213 in the computer-based test or at least 79 in the internet-based test with no less than 22 in the written component*; or

  • A Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic minimum overall score of 57 with no skill less than 50*
