Macquarie University has shown excellence by securing 180 spot on the global scale.

According to the Macquarie University (MQ) international rankings, it is ranked 197 by QS, 175 by Times (THE), 201 - 300 by ARWU, and 207 by US News. This helps explain why Macquarie is currently ranked as the 11th-best Australian institution overall by global rating systems. In terms of rankings within Australia, the university is ranked 8th on the ERA scale (2012) and has a 4 1/2 Star AEN rating. According to the Academic Ranking of World Universities, the U.S. News & World Report Rankings, and the QS World University Rankings, Macquarie ranks among the top 40 universities in the Asia-Pacific region and among Australia's top 12 universities. Prior to celebrating its golden jubilee in 2014, Macquarie was ranked 18th globally and was the highest-ranked university in Australia among institutions under 50 years old.
