Do you have a love of language and deep knowledge of more than one language and one culture? Are you meticulous? Do you have fantastic writing and public speaking skills? If so, a career in translating and interpreting may be your calling.

If you’re proficient in more than one language in addition to English, the Master of Translation and Interpreting Studies will provide you with the skills and knowledge you’ll require to perform translation and interpreting in a range of institutional settings common to community and commercial translation and interpreting practice in Australia and overseas. This degree allows you to study in the following languages paired with English: Chinese (Mandarin), French, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.

    • One year (full-time equivalent) approved work experience
  • Proficiency in one of the available languages, and
  • For students whose first language is English, completion of an admission assessment
