Master of Social Work (Graduate Entry)

The program teaches you to research, analyse and articulate a framework for inclusive and ethical professional social work practice. You will develop the skills to identify the cultural context of various approaches and their relevance to specific situations and populations, and to delineate the connections between interpersonal practice, social policy and research. Topics cover areas such as social work with diverse populations, complexities in work with children and families, mental health through the life course, and trauma and resilience.

• Applicants must hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline other than social work; and must also have completed the equivalent of one year full-time (36 units) of social science (as defined by the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia ie education, psychology, law, political science, history, accounting, economics, marketing, sociology, management, geography etc) topics .
• Applicants with less than a year of full-time study or who have no social science studies in their tertiary studies should apply for the Graduate Certificate in Society and the Individual (CRICOS code 0101000) to meet this requirement.
   

International students must satisfy our English language proficiency requirements for admission. If your first language is not English you will need to have:
 

• Achieved the required test score for the course you are applying for. The IELTS and equivalent scores to meet the various levels #. IELTS, TOEFL, PTE and Cambridge tests must be taken in a registered testing centre.; or
• Successfully completed an approved secondary or tertiary qualification, taught in the English language in a country where English is the official language or the main language spoken (for up to an overall IELTS of 6.5) with evidence no more than five years old on the proposed date of commencement of the course; or
• Successfully completed a pre-course English program from an approved ELICOS Provider*.

Annual fees:  $34,500

Graduates can go on to secure positions in a variety of settings within a framework of relevant legislation and procedures, supporting individuals, families, and groups within the community.
