Leeds Conservatoire is a music and performing arts school located in Leeds, England. It was founded in 1965 under its former name Leeds Music Centre and offered extracurricular music lessons at the Leeds Institute building near Millennium Square, which is now home to Leeds City Museum. The conservatoire introduced the first Jazz degree in Europe in 1993. Following the introduction of new degree programmes in musical theatre, acting, and actor-musician, Leeds College of Music changed its name to Leeds Conservatoire on around 3 August 2020.

 

It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in a variety of subjects including music performance, composition, jazz, production and sound engineering, musical theatre, and more. There are about 12 undergraduate programmes and more than 5 postgraduate programmes offered at the institution. Leeds Conservatoire’s acceptance rate is 42% and more than 1500 students each year are admitted at this rate. 

 

In addition to its educational offerings, Leeds Conservatoire courses and programmes are offered to  musicians of all ages, it also presents a seasonally scheduled concert series, mostly in its 350-seat auditorium "The Venue."
