The University of Wisconsin-Stout is a public university located in Menomonie, Wisconsin, United States. It was founded in 1891 as a vocational school and became part of the University of Wisconsin System in 1971. The school was named for its benefactor, James Huff Stout, who founded it in 1891. 

 

UW-Stout offers over 45 undergraduate majors, 20 graduate programmes, and numerous certificate programmes in a wide range of fields, including engineering, technology, business, education, art and design, and the social sciences. UW-Stout is divided into two campuses: the main campus and the north campus. The main campus has the majority of the students residing. There are five living halls, and three eating facilities, while the north campus contains the remaining four housing halls, one dining hall, and student health services. Residence facilities - UW-housing Stout's facilities are designed to be inclusive of students of all sexual and gender identities, and there is a designated LGBTQIA+ Office to assist students. International student services, disability student services, Veteran's Services, and Health Services are all offered to students. On-campus living halls provide study areas, printers, housing staff, vending machines, and game and lounge areas. Off-campus housing offers a variety of options between 3-15 minutes of walking distance of campus. Except in rare cases, freshmen and sophomores are forced to live on campus. 

 

Library - The Robert S. Swanson Library is the main library at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. It is located on the north side of the campus in Menomonie, Wisconsin, United States. The library is named after Robert S. Swanson, who was the chancellor of UW-Stout from 1972 to 1988. The library has a vast collection of resources, including over 600,000 books, 1.5 million electronic books, 150,000 government documents, and over 45,000 media items, including DVDs and CDs. The library also provides access to over 160 research databases and has over 32,000 journal titles available online.
