The Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Meteorology at the School of Mathematics, Science and Engineering readies future weather science professionals for successful and important careers that serve to inform and educate the public, as well as for advanced study in graduate programs. UIW offers the only B.S. Meteorology and Broadcast Meteorology program in San Antonio and throughout South Texas.

Meteorology and weather forecasting are complex sciences that require a deep understanding of the workings of the natural world, air quality, trends and climate. In addition to these, a broadcast meteorologist must have mastery of the advanced technology used in the field and possess the skills and talents to effectively communicate findings and forecasts for mass media audiences.
