The University of Northern Colorado is a public research university located in Greeley, Colorado, USA. It was founded in 1889 and is the oldest university in the state of Colorado. UNC is a member of the University of Northern Colorado system. The university is beautifully tucked between the Rocky Mountains and Colorado’s stunning plains.  

 

It offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programmes in fields such as business, education, performing and visual arts, health and human sciences, humanities and social sciences, and natural and health sciences. Since 2006, UNC has been a member of the NCAA Division I Big Sky Conference, with 17 intercollegiate teams. It has won three volleyball titles and a women's soccer championship since entering the Big Sky, while the women's basketball team recently earned the Big Sky championship and an NCAA spot. Some of its well-known alumni are athletes like Gregg Brandon (college football coach of Colorado School of Mines), Earnest Collins Jr (football player and head coach for UNC), Dominic Breazeale (Boxer) and many others.

Libraries - The university has two libraries mainly - Michener and Skinner (Musical Library). Michener is open from 7:30 AM to Midnight whereas Skinner is open from 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM. The libraries have a bunch of special collections such as university archives, James A. Michener Papers and Special Collections and others. Michener Library is the main library on UNC's campus and houses more than one million print and electronic resources, including books, journals, databases, and media materials. Dining facilities - Holmes Dining Hall has a variety of entrées and side dishes, as well as a fantastic salad bar, making it simple to choose healthful options every day.
