The University of North Alabama (UNA) stands as a distinguished coeducational institution for higher education and research in the historic city of Florence. The university was established in 1830 as LaGrange College and holds the distinction of being the oldest four-year public-funded university in Alabama. The university is accredited by the Schools Commission on Colleges and the Southern Association of Colleges and offers a picturesque 130-acre campus adorned with well-maintained buildings, shaded pathways and spacious lawns.
