About
The University of New Haven (UNH) is a private university located in In West Haven, Connecticut. The university grounds cover approximately 122 acres of property between its main campus in West Haven and its graduate school site in Orange, Connecticut. The Connecticut Institute of Technology, College of Arts and Sciences, Pompea College of Business, Tagliatela College of Engineering, Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences, and the School of Health Sciences are all part of the institution. It is one of the country's few CAE-designated institutions. The university is a member of the Northeast-10 Conference, and the charger, a medieval war horse, is its mascot.
Some of the university's undergraduate degree programs have received national recognition, most notably engineering, forensic science, criminal justice, marine biology, music and sound production, and the music industry. In January 2012, the College of Arts and Sciences theatre program was chosen to host the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. The university now has 48 campus buildings, including the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science and the Bergami Center for Science, Technology, and Innovation, which is the newest. In 2020, The Bergami Center for Science, Technology, and Innovation opened, and the university celebrated its 100th anniversary. Later on, The Connecticut Institute of Technology was established in 2020.
The institute is also noted for hosting a number of lectures and workshops throughout the year, all of which are conducted by forensic practitioners. Criminal and evidence photography, death and homicide investigations, advanced blood stain and pattern analysis, and many more themes are popular and frequently revisited during practical training classes offered to students. It specializes in multidisciplinary research, training, testing, consultancy, and forensic science teaching.

Ranking
The Princeton Review named UNH one of the 387 best colleges in the country. The US News & World Report placed the university at the 58th position out of 181 Northern Regional Universities. The US News & World Report also ranks the Tagliatela College of Engineering in the top three in the country. It joined the New American Colleges and Universities in June 2015. Facilities
The Office of Facilities is in charge of maintaining and operating existing campus buildings, as well as planning, designing, and building new ones. They operate around the clock to serve the community 24/7 . Students may submit a work order to the Office of Facilities for assistance. Work orders for repairs, maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, custodial and site services, landscaping services, and other services can be generated. Undergraduate Student Body: The UNH’s Undergraduate Student Government Association houses all of the university's approved student organizations. Bartels Hall, the university's student centre, houses offices on the top floor.
Student Programming Events Committee: Student Programming Events Committee Spirit and Traditions, Entertainment, Novelty and Variety, Film and Technology, and Marketing Chairs are all committees of the Student Committee of Programming Events, a student-run programming organization.
Student Publication: Since 1938, the Charger Bulletin has been the official student-run publication at the university. It comes out once a week in quarter-folded tabloid size. The paper is written by both undergraduate and graduate students.
The Marching Band: The university’s Chargers Marching Band (UNHMB) is one of the country's fastest-growing collegiate parading bands, having started with only 20 members in 2009 and presently marching with nearly 260.
