The University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) is an American public research university located in St. Louis, Missouri. It is the newest of the four universities in the University of Missouri System, having been founded in 1963. The university's campus is located on the former grounds of Bellerive Country Club and extends into the municipalities of Bellerive, Bel-Nor, and Normandy. Additional facilities can be found in St. Louis at the former Marillac College site and at Grand Center.
The University of Missouri-St. Louis has one of the most diverse cultural and ethnic environments and provides exceptional educational, research, and engagement experiences that inform, prepare, challenge, and inspire students. The College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business Administration, the College of Education, the College of Nursing, the School of Social Work, and the College of Optometry all offer bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programmes. The business school is AACSB-accredited, and the university is the only public university in the St. Louis area that is also AACSB-accredited in accounting.
