Civil engineers concentrate their work on the design and construction of public works such as roads, highways, water systems, buildings, and bridges. They are responsible for the basic infrastructure of our society. To become an engineer you need at l east a bachelor’s degree and a broad background in mathematics and sciences. There are different specializations within Civil Engineering, including Environmental and Water Resources, Structures and Applied Engineering, and Transportation Systems.
