Located in Warrensburg, Missouri, the University of Central Missouri (UCM) is a public university. Warrensburg Teachers College was established in 1871 as Normal School No. 2 before changing its name. Central Missouri State Teachers College, Central Missouri State College, and Central Missouri State University were the new names for the institution in 1919, 1945, and 1972, respectively. The organization started a graduate school in 1965. The university took its place as the official name in 2006. UCM offers many online courses and programs and has off-campus venues in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

 

University of Central Missouri's acceptance rate stands at 58% with 10,000+ students representing 49 states and 59 nationalities. 150+ degree programs in undergraduate and postgraduate studies are available at the university. University Of Central Missouri has been named a 2022 Best College in the Midwestern Region by The Princeton Review. Since 2004, the university has received this recognition on a regular basis. The article stated that the University of Central Missouri offers a "top-notch education for a very inexpensive cost." Facilities

There are more than 200+ student groups at the university, including clubs and associations for academic, cultural, recreational, volunteer, and special interest activities. There are also free movie nights on campus, more than 20+ intramural sports to participate in, a bowling alley, and a theatre in the student union. To make the transition from high school to college easier, freshman and sophomore students are expected to live in one of the 16 residence halls during their first year. Additionally, students have the option to live in a Special Housing Interest Program, which groups residents in residence halls who are enrolled in the same academic program. 

 

The University of Central Missouri facilities include 26 Greek groups, and recruitment happens both in the spring and fall semesters. One in eleven UCM students participates in Greek life. Greeks Advocating Mature Management of Alcohol, or GAMMA, is a program that advocates for alcohol awareness.
