UNC-Chapel Hill's 14 schools provide 74 bachelor's, 104 master's, 65 doctoral, and seven professional degree programmes to educate students to compete in a fast-changing workforce. Every year, students, teachers, and staff commit thousands of hours to help communities around North Carolina via public service projects and outreach programmes. Today, almost 250,000 students are enrolled in the state's 16 colleges and the NC School of Science and Mathematics.

 

With roughly a third of its undergraduates studying abroad before graduating, UNC has one of the highest studies abroad rates of any US university. UNC is the only public institution in the USA to have provided degrees from the eighteenth century. The American Talent Initiative, of which Carolina is one of the 30 founding members, intends to draw 50,000 more low-income students to the 334 schools and universities with the highest graduation rates by 2025.

Admission

UNC Entry Requirements

The University of North Carolina's entry requirements takes three critical aspects of applicants' past success into account: high school courses, high school grade point average (GPA), and test results. Meeting these standards, however, does not ensure admission to any specific school or programme. Admission to certain schools and academic programmes within academic institutions may be more challenging and need extra criteria. A student with at least a 2.5 weighted high school grade point average OR a minimum ACT (19) or SAT (1010) test score is eligible for evaluation by any of the 16 UNC System schools. To be considered for admission, a student must still take either the ACT or the SAT. Other obligatory entry criteria include -

UNC Fees

UNC follows a Fixed Tuition Program wherein under this scheme, first-time full-time resident undergraduates and new transfer students who enrol at the university will not see an increase in tuition for 8 consecutive semesters. Mandatory student fees are generally capped at 3% per year. While the tuition fees for in-state students are approximately $8,998 per year, the fees are $37,558 for out-of-state students.
