About
State University Of New York Polytechnic Institute (also known as SUNY Polytechnic Institute or SUNY Poly) is a public university with campuses in Marcy and Albany, both in the state of New York. The public polytechnic college in New York was established in 1966 using the classrooms of an elementary school. The Marcy campus, originally known as the SUNY Institute of Technology, was founded in 1987. The Albany campus was first created in January 2003 and was once a part of that institution. The Middle States Commission on Higher Education has granted SUNY Poly accreditation.
There are 13 students for every faculty member, with an average class size of 18. SUNY Poly provides over 25 Bachelor's degrees, 18 graduate degrees, and 5 doctoral degrees through five colleges within the university. Students have the option of becoming research assistants, where they can gain knowledge and help a professor with a research project.
