With 135,000 online students and 3,000 on-campus, SNHU is one of the colleges in the country with the quickest growth. Since its founding in 1932, the university has evolved from a school of accounting and secretarial science into an organisation offering more than 200 programs, from certificates to doctoral-level degrees, in business, liberal arts, education, social sciences, and STEM. SNHU makes sure that students are keeping up with new technologies and professional requirements by redesigning higher education to suit the needs of today's students and workforce.

Within a short distance of Manchester's centre is SNHU's 300-acre campus. It is also located in a region that appeals to a wide range of interests among the students, with Boston to the south, the ocean to the east, and the mountains to the north. The university purchased airport property in 2017, including a flight centre, tower building, and hangar. The College of Engineering, Technology and Aviation (CETA), in collaboration with Air Direct Airways (ADA), provides practical training for aviation and aeronautical studies here.
