Program Overview

The Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering (MSIE) is and on-campus degree program stressing advanced industrial engineering practice and research. Program coursework is designed to strengthen technical skills that allow students to work as specialists in areas of industrial engineering such as operations research, production and manufacturing and ergonomics. In addition, the degree will provide the research background needed to transition into Ph.D. degree programs.

Students can enter the program at any one of the three semesters during the year and choose core classes and electives to match their individual interests and career goals. The degree requires the preparation and approval of an MS Thesis related to some aspect of Industrial Engineering.

Entry Requirement
Typical students admitted to this program have completed a BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution. Applicants from other backgrounds are encouraged to talk to the program coordinator prior to applying.Students lacking courses in statistics or engineering economics may be admitted on a provisional basis while these requirements are satisfied; these courses cannot be counted toward the requirements for the degree.
