Smith College is a private, liberal arts women's college located in Northampton, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1871 and is the largest member of the Seven Sisters colleges, a group of seven prestigious women's colleges in the Northeastern United States. The college saw a fall 2021 enrollment of 2,553 undergraduates and 2,842 graduate students.

The 147-acre Smith College campus is located in North Hampton, Massachusetts. Housing Facilities:

The university has a variety of housing options available to students. Freshmen are required to live in one of the college's residence halls, which are designed to promote a sense of community and provide opportunities for students to interact and form friendships. These residence halls have traditional double and triple rooms, shared bathrooms, common spaces, and social lounges. Upperclassmen have several options for on-campus housing. Some options include traditional residence halls, suite-style living, and apartment-style living. These options are designed to offer students greater privacy and independence as they progress through their college years

 

Library Facilities:

The library at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts is called the Neilson Library. It is the main library on campus and provides a wide range of resources and services to support the research and study needs of students, faculty, and staff. The Neilson Library contains over 1.2 million volumes of books, periodicals, and other materials, including a large number of electronic resources such as e-books, online journals, and databases. Acceptance Rate

Smith College acceptance rate is 23% for international students in 2024. The university is among the 6% of the top most difficult universities to get into in the United States. 

 

Smith accepted 22.86% of applicants in 2023. This is lower than its 34.51% average acceptance rate over the past decade. Admission was slightly more competitive in 2023 than in 2022. However, the 2023 yield (enrolled students) of 37.24% exceeded the 33.99% average period. The number of Smith applicants increased significantly by 1,205 (19.87%) compared to the prior year.



Entry Requirements

Smith College’s entry requirements for undergraduate students seeking advanced status, or a returning student re-enrolling after a break, the admissions standards are the same. The university does not require its applicants to pay any sort of application fee. International students need to have a minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 on a minimum average scale of 4.0. Each applicant must provide the following:
