Saint Mary's College of California

Saint Mary's College of California, located in the hills of Moraga, California, is a recognised school of higher learning that has fostered academic success and personal growth for over a century. The De La Salle Christian Brothers founded the institution in 1863, and it has continually retained its objective of providing a transformational education anchored in the Catholic Lasallian heritage. The area at 30th and Broadway became known as "The Brickpile", and Saint Mary's College remained in Oakland until 1928 when it relocated to Moraga after a fire seriously destroyed the Brickpile.
