About
Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) is a public university located in Michigan, in Saginaw County. It is the newest of Michigan's 15 public colleges and universities and was established in 1963 as Saginaw Valley College. The university is situated on 748 acres in Saginaw County's Kochville Township, approximately 5.5 miles north of downtown Saginaw. SVSU offers over 100 academic programmes at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with a total undergraduate enrollment of 6,789 as of fall 2022.
Saginaw Valley State University comprises five colleges: the College of Arts and Behavioral Sciences, the College of Business and Management, the College of Education, the Crystal M. Lange College of Health and Human Services and the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology. SVSU is also recognised for having the lowest tuition fees in the state. The university boasts 15 varsity teams competing at the NCAA Division II level. It has earned accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.
