In Fairfield, Connecticut, Sacred Heart University, also referred to as the SHU, is a private Roman Catholic institution of higher learning that was established in 1963. The University was the first Catholic university in America to employ laypeople. Over 70 degree programmes are available, and the academic calendar is based on semesters. The West Campus of Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, the site of the old global headquarters of General Electric, offers about 66 acres, 550,000 square feet of building space, and 800 more parking places.
