Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (RHIT) is a private research university located in Terre Haute, Indiana, United States. It was founded in 1874. The last academic year of 2022 saw a total enrollment of 2,188 students under both undergraduate and graduate levels. The university has an acceptance rate of 74%. As of 2022, the university has a faculty of 189 members, 99% of which held a PhD.

 

Talking about the university’s history in brief, after having trouble finding local engineers to work on railroads, founder Chauncey Rose and nine of his friends founded the Terre Haute School of Industrial Science in 1874 to offer technical instruction. 48 students from the inaugural class were then chosen from 58 applications. They entered in 1883. All 48 of the students were male, and 37 of them were from Indiana.

 

The institute is known for its undergraduate education in engineering, mathematics, and science. The university offers degrees in six engineering disciplines, as well as in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology. Graduate degrees at this institute focus only on Engineering. Apart from this, there are 25 majors and 45 minors to choose from. Facilities

The 200-acre campus of the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is situated in the Terre Haute suburb of Indiana. The Institute provides its students with round-the-clock safety and security services. There are over 90 interesting student clubs, including intramural sports, paintball, swing dancing, performing arts, robotics, and paintball to choose from once students are admitted here. 

 

Housing Facilities - Students who live on campus have greater opportunities to interact with peers from various countries and traditions and often perform better academically. Students who choose to live on campus have easy access to the university's facilities, including its library, dining halls, and sports fields. At Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, about 55% of students choose to therefore live on campus. It is mandatory for all first-year students are required to live on campus.

 

Library - Logan Library supports the university by providing access to top-notch resources, ample study space, first-rate service, practical hours, and helpful staff.
