Program Overview
The Master of Music in Suzuki Pedagogy and Performance is available to qualified violinists, violists, and cellists. The degree combines advanced performance and academic studies with an in-depth Suzuki Education curriculum, and development of teaching skills through observations, practica and apprentice teaching.
The graduate program in Suzuki Pedagogy is offered jointly by Roosevelt University and the Music Institute of Chicago (MIC), a nonprofit community music school founded in 1931 which operates one of the largest and most respected Suzuki Education programs in the United States. The MIC faculty includes a unique concentration of Suzuki Teacher Trainers who are sanctioned by the Suzuki Association of the Americas, the organization officially licensed to support, guide, and promote Suzuki education in North, Central, and South America.
