About

Purdue University is a public research university located in West Lafayette, Indiana. It was founded in 1869 and is named after the founder of the university, John Purdue. In 1869, Lafayette businessman John Purdue donated land and funds to develop a college of science, technology, and agriculture in his honor. On September 16, 1874, the first classes were held, with six instructors and 39 students.
 
Purdue's most popularly enrolled colleges are the College of Engineering and the College of Health and Human Sciences. International applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 to be admitted to Purdue University. In Fall 2021, the average GPA of a Purdue accepted student was 3.69 on a 4.0 scale.
 
 It has a strong focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and is known for its engineering and business programs. The university is home to around 45,869 students from 50 US states and more than 130 countries and offers over 200 undergraduate and 80 graduate programs. It has a large campus with many facilities, including libraries, recreational centers, and student housing. 
 
Purdue is a Big Ten Conference founding member and has the world's biggest student body of any individual university campus in Indiana,  and the ninth-largest international number of students of any university in the United States. 
 
Purdue University is an affiliate of the Association of American Universities and is classed among "R1: Doctoral Universities - Extremely strong research activity". Purdue University's campus is in Lafayette, Indiana, on the banks of the Wabash River. Purdue's main campus in Lafayette serves as the main institution for nine other campuses spread across several regions. There are faith-based centers on campus, as well as an LGBTQ center. There are also numerous residence halls and cafeterias on campus.

The university provides housing options for various student groups, including co-ed housing and completely separate housing facilities for males and females. Earhart Hall, first Street Towers, Harrison Hall, Hawkins Hall, Shrivey Hall, Wiley Hall, and UR boiler apartments all offer co-ed housing. Female residence halls include Windsor Hall, Meredith Hall, and Meredith Hall South. Male residence halls include Cary Quadrangle and Tarkington Hall.

The libraries at Purdue University offer a wide range of services to support the research and learning needs of Purdue University students, faculty, and staff, including access to online databases, e-journals, and e-books; research assistance and instruction; study spaces; and more. They also have a number of physical collections, including books, periodicals, and other materials. Admission

Purdue University Entry Requirements 
Whether you're a first-time applicant to Purdue University, an undergraduate student seeking advanced status, or a returning student re-enrolling after a break, the admissions standards are the same for all applicants. Students wishing to be admitted to CSU must make a mandatory application fee payment of 75 USD for undergraduates and 95 USD for graduates.
