About

North Carolina State University (NC State) is a public research institution in Raleigh, North Carolina. The largest institution in the Carolinas, it was established in 1887 and is a part of the University of North Carolina system. Together with Duke University in Durham and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the university constitutes one of the corners of the Research Triangle. It is listed as belonging to the category "R1: Doctoral Universities - Very High Research Activity." North Campus, Central Campus, and South Campus are the three divisions of NC State's Main Campus. The majority of the academic departments and a few dorms are located on NC State's North Campus, which is also its oldest section. Residence halls, cafeterias, gyms, and student support facilities make up the majority of Central Campus. The McKimmon Conference and Training Center, Greek Court, and student park-and-ride spaces are all located on South Campus.

 

The largest four-year university in the state is North Carolina State University or NC State. They participate in NCAA Division I and have amassed eight national titles: two NCAA, two AIAW, and four from other governing bodies.

The Nuclear Engineering department at NC State is regarded as one of the greatest in the world, and it was ranked third in the nation in 2020 (behind MIT and the University of Michigan Ann Arbor). Facilities

When it comes to North Carolina State University facilities; many of the student movements and events take place on campus. Carmichael Complex

The Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center, Miller Fields, 12 tennis courts, and 8 basketball courts are all part of the Carmichael Complex, which provides students with a wide range of indoor and outdoor fitness options. Unless specifically designated for classes, activities, or maintenance, students are welcome to utilise the pools, indoor track, courts, cardio equipment, outdoor fields, and tennis courts.

 

Gregg Museum of Art & Design

The permanent collection of NC State's collecting museum, the Gregg Museum of Art & Design, contains more than 35,000 examples of modern and vintage ceramics, glass, textiles, furniture, paintings, photographs, sculptures, archaeological artefacts, folk and outsider art, works on paper, and clothing.
