About

The McDonough School of Business (MSB) is the undergraduate and graduate business school of Georgetown University, located in Washington, D.C., United States. The school was founded in 1957 and is named after Robert Emmett McDonough, a Georgetown alumnus and former chairman of the Georgetown University Board of Regents. The school has 1400 undergraduate seats along with exactly 1400 postgraduate seats as well. 

 

MSB offers undergraduate, MBA, Executive MBA, and specialized master's degrees in fields such as finance, marketing, management, and international business. The school is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and has consistently ranked among the top business schools in the United States. There is also a summer undergraduate research fellow programme offered to students to conduct a research project according to a topic of their choice.

Facilities

The McDonough School of Business relocated into the Rafik B. Hariri Building in 2009. The $82.5 million privately financed building is LEED Silver certified which was opened up for students in the summer of 2009. The campus of this business school is large and offers a variety of amenities for students. It offers resources including career and student assistance which helps students define their career along with a world-class learning environment, case format classrooms, seminars, and lecture halls.

 

  • There are 15 classrooms, eight case-style rooms, five lecture rooms and two flat-floor rooms. Including 34 breakout rooms complete with data ports, flat-screen video monitors, and whiteboards. There are also separate undergraduate and graduate commons areas and lockers for graduate students. The building also has 20 faculty offices, 11 interview rooms within the Career Management Office, 15 conference rooms and a 400-seat auditorium, among other features. 

 

  • There are four freshman residence halls namely Village C West, Harbin, New South, and Darnall which are part of the on-campus housing programme offered to students. They have the ability to select from a variety of housing alternatives based on cost and amenities. There are three types of lodging available for incoming students, upper-classmen, and graduates. Every dorm is completely furnished and equipped with the necessities, including air conditioners, wardrobes, tables, and bookshelves. 

 

  • Students can also enrol themselves in more than 40 student clubs which include professional and extracurricular activities. There are also 30 MBA-related organizations to indulge in

McDonough School of Business Entry Requirements

 

Students wishing to apply to this college should note that they can either online or physically, either way, the admission procedure remains the same. International students need to have a minimum score of 60% in their secondary school and bachelor's degree results.
