Overview

About

Manchester University can be traced back to the United Brethren Church's establishment of Roanoke Classical Seminary in Roanoke in 1860. When it relocated to North Manchester in 1889, its name was changed to North Manchester College. Morris College in Illinois merged with Mount Manchester College in 1932. In July 2012, the college was renamed Manchester University. Furthermore, the university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Since 1932, it has also been a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

 

The university is divided into two campuses. The university's main campus is located in North Manchester, 35 miles from Fort Wayne, and features six residence halls, high-tech academic buildings, modern athletic facilities, and towering oak trees. There are also recreational areas on campus, and more than 60 student clubs organise numerous activities. The university's Fort Wayne campus, located near the Interstate 69 exit, is in the heart of Fort Wayne's northern medical district on Diebold and Dupont roads. Modern classrooms, a pharmacy care laboratory, a pharmacy communications laboratory with video-equipped rooms, a sterile products laboratory, a drug information centre, and spacious study areas are available on campus.

 

The university has a professional doctorate degree programme in pharmacy as well as two master's degree programmes. It also provides undergraduate degree programmes in over 70 fields of study, including accounting, athletics, arts, sciences, business, education, communication, computer science, media, economics, social sciences, pharmacy, engineering, finance, languages, health, journalism, mathematics, law, and psychology. More than 1600 students from 28 states and 20 countries attend the university. It also has a 14:1 student-faculty ratio. Within six months of graduation, approximately 96% of university graduates find work, volunteer full-time, or enrol in additional studies.

The university provides students with immersive opportunities and hands-on training to gain real-world experience. The Intercultural Center on MU's Main Campus serves as a resource centre for the various cultural groups on campus. There is also a campus store, a peace garden, a study space, and a Chapel on the university campus.
