About
Manchester University can be traced back to the United Brethren Church's establishment of Roanoke Classical Seminary in Roanoke in 1860. When it relocated to North Manchester in 1889, its name was changed to North Manchester College. Morris College in Illinois merged with Mount Manchester College in 1932. In July 2012, the college was renamed Manchester University. Furthermore, the university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Since 1932, it has also been a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
The university is divided into two campuses. The university's main campus is located in North Manchester, 35 miles from Fort Wayne, and features six residence halls, high-tech academic buildings, modern athletic facilities, and towering oak trees. There are also recreational areas on campus, and more than 60 student clubs organise numerous activities. The university's Fort Wayne campus, located near the Interstate 69 exit, is in the heart of Fort Wayne's northern medical district on Diebold and Dupont roads.
