About

Loyola Marymount University is a private Jesuit and Marymount research university located in Los Angeles, California. It is the result of the unification of Marymount College, founded in 1932, and Loyola College, founded in 1917. It is housed on the Del Rey Hills in the Westchester neighbourhood of LA. It was founded in 1911 and has a diverse student body of over 10,165 undergraduate and graduate students in the fall semester of 2022. LMU offers more than 70 undergraduate majors and over 50 graduate programs in a wide range of fields, including business, education, film and television production, and the liberal arts. 

 

The university is known for its strong programmes in areas such as entrepreneurship, communications, and the arts. It has a commitment to social justice, and it is recognized for its rigorous academics and community outreach programs. There are more than 60 major and 56 minor undergraduate programs. Loyola Marymount in downtown Los Angeles also serves as the home to six other colleges and universities. There are three campuses located around Los Angeles: the Westchester campus, the Downtown Law campus, and the Playa Vista campus. The Westchester campus of spans  over 142 acres of vast land.
