About

Lawrence Technological University, also known as Lawrence Tech or LTU, is a private university in Southfield, Michigan. The university was founded in 1932 by the Lawrence Institute of Technology. The institution was relocated to Southfield in 1955 to expand its campus areas. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes in a variety of fields, including technology, science, arts, engineering, and mathematics.

 

It provides academic services through four colleges: Arts and Sciences, Architecture and Design, Business and Information Technology, and Engineering. Students can choose from over a hundred different academic programmes. Besides that, the university has approximately 4,500 students enrolled every year. There are approximately 400 full-time and part-time faculty members at the university, with a faculty-to-student ratio of 1:12. Apart from academic facilities, the university offers students extracurricular activities and leadership opportunities.

 

The vision of the university is to be known for transformative STEM and Design education that develops leaders with an entrepreneurial mindset and a global perspective. The main academic buildings on the Lawrence Technological University campus are the College of Architecture and Design (CoAD) and the University Technology and Learning Centre (UTLC).
