Program Overview

From handcraft to digital fabrication and from orthographic drawing to material prototypes, the techniques and medias our students learn are varied, exploratory. and iterative. Students work side-by-side with graphic designers, fiber-artists, printmakers, industrial designers, painters and sculptors. In addition to required foundations courses in art, architectural design majors at JMU can take art and design classes across the School of Art, Design and Art History.

Entry Requirement
Application, submitted online or by mail.
Transcripts or statement of marks of all secondary and post-secondary education, translated into English. Transcripts must be complete. For applicants still enrolled the transcript or statement of marks must also include grades for the most recent term. The transcript must be an original copy certified by the sending institution.
One letter of recommendation.
Proof of English language proficiency for nonnative speakers.
If applicable, copy of your current U.S. visa documents.
