The Hood College Preparatory Division offers private lessons to the community in the following areas: piano, organ, harpsichord, violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, English horn, bassoon, flute, voice, all brass instruments and composition.

Dozens of professionals, including members of Hood's music faculty, perform on campus each year. The College's location near both Washington, D.C., and Baltimore attracts world-class musicians and exposes students and members of the community to a broad array of cultural opportunities.
