Grand Valley State University

Grand Valley State University was founded in 1960 and is a public liberal arts university with a total land area of about 1322 acres. The university is located in Allendale, Michigan. It is situated just outside Grand Rapids, Michigan's second-largest metropolitan region. Grand Valley strives to make liberal education the foundation for all of its academic programmes, despite the fact that it is one of the 100 largest universities in America in terms of enrollment. The university is a renowned name in the US Educational System and offers admission to students into about 140 graduate and undergraduate courses. It follows an academic calendar based on semesters. Business, health, and engineering courses are the most popular at Grand Valley State University.

Freshmen are introduced to over 400 student organisations during an event called 'Grounds Life Night,' which allows students to explore the various options for extracurricular activities. Greek life is attended by about 5% of the undergraduate population, and there are more than 20 sections to choose from. The Grand Valley State Lakers compete in NCAA Division II as members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The university's athletic excellence is unrivalled, and it has won the Director's Cup multiple times as the best NCAA Division II athletic programme in the country. Grand Valley State University's most popular majors are Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services; Health Professions and Related Programs; Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs; Psychology; and Parks, Recreation, Leisure, and Fitness Studies. The average freshman retention rate, which is an indicator of student satisfaction, is 84%. 

Grand Valley offers a variety of scholarships to both new and returning students. It provides 400+ endowed and departmental scholarships. These grants differ in type and may be awarded based on interests, academic performance, special talents, or majors. There are numerous merit-based awards available to incoming freshmen and first-year Grand Valley students. The university has a total of 7 campuses. In Grand Rapids, there are two campuses: the Graduate School and the Health Campus. The university has an international branch in Holland called Meijer Campus. The university's other campuses include the Detroit Center of SouthEast Michigan, Muskegon Regional Center, and Traverse City Regional Center.

The university is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the United States Department of Education and is one of the most sought-after options for studying in the United States. The student-to-teacher ratio at the university is 16:1, which provides students with an excellent learning environment. Approximately 90% of students receive financial aid from the institute. It is one of the top 100 universities in the United States in terms of enrollment, but it continues to strive to make liberal education. In the 2019-20 academic year, the university had a total enrollment of 24,033 students from all 50 states and 79 countries around the world.
