Cost of Living

The city of Melbourne is the county seat of Brevard County, Florida. It is home to a large number of high-tech companies and is known as “the gateway to the Space Coast” because it is home to Kennedy Space Center. It has a population of over 91,000 people and was founded in 1867. The economy in Melbourne is driven by the tourism industry as well as high-tech companies.  The cost of living in Melbourne is lower than most other parts of Florida because it has fewer resources than larger cities like Miami or Tampa Bay do which drives prices up locally so they don't get as high as they could be if there were more businesses competing for customers' dollars
