Program Overview

The M.S. in Data Science allows students to apply data science techniques to their field of interest.

Columbia data science students have the opportunity to conduct original research, produce a capstone project, and interact with our industry partners and world-class faculty. Students may also choose an elective track focused on entrepreneurship or a subject area covered by one of our centers.

This program is jointly offered in collaboration with the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Statistics, and The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science’s Department of Computer Science and Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.

Entry Requirement
- Students must have a bachelor's degree in a related field received from an institution.
- Students are required to maintain at least a 3.8 overall GPA.
Language Requirements:
- Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores.

- Prior quantitative coursework (calculus, linear algebra, etc.)
- Prior introductory computer programming coursework
