Applicants who have completed, or are completing, undergraduate and/or graduate degrees at institutions outside of the United States are required to submit a full course-by-course evaluation including verified transcripts for U.S. degree equivalency. The evaluations must be prepared and sent by one of the two providers listed below.

Please note this does not pertain to applicants from the United States who have spent a semester or year studying abroad. This requirement is only applicable for degree-granting institutions.

Teachers College will accept evaluations from the following organizations:

• World Education Services (WES)

• Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE)
   

English Proficiency
 

If you have not received a baccalaureate (undergraduate) degree from an institution where English was the sole official language of instruction, you must submit official scores from one of the below accepted English proficiency exams. Please note that an English proficiency test is required, regardless of where you received a graduate degree (if any).
 

In order to be considered official, scores must be sent directly from the testing administrator and have been taken within the past 2 years. 
 

The accepted tests and minimum scores are:

• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Minimum score requirement: 100 internet-based test (IBT)
  Teachers College institution code: 2905

• IELTS English Language Test - Minimum score requirement: 7.0

The cost of studying at Columbia University varies largely depending on the type of university and the degree chosen. More often than not, humanities, arts, and education courses are less expensive than degrees in medical, engineering, or management. Furthermore, students who choose to study at the postgraduate level typically pay higher tuition fees, which again vary depending on the programme chosen.

Most universities provide scholarships or financial aid to students in order to help them offset their tuition costs. Students should be aware that additional course fees and incidental expenses may not be included in tuition.
